Who we areCreated out of a succesful Esprit project in 1999 as a non-for-profit EEIG (European Economic Interest Group) in Brussels, MENON is a European innovation and research network, which has been working in the last 10 years to provide information, evaluation, consultancy and development support to policy makers, industry and society at large on issues related to learning, and how learning is linked to organizational and social developments in Europe and worldwide. The mission of MENON is to facilitate the evolution of the Knowledge Society in Europe and in other parts of the world, making learning a priority issue in policy agendas around economic, social and cultural development at both national and international level.
The MENON Network is active both at national level, through its members, and at transnational level, where the EEIG coordinates co-funded projects, and is active in other collaboration and support work for the European Commission and international organisations. Active in more than 30 countries, working in more than 10 languages.MENON has been working in more than 30 countries, in Europe, Latin America and Asia. IN these regions, MENON can count on an extended network of partners and experts in its fields of interest and can mobilise the energies of a number of key actors and networks in these areas. Thanks to its international team of experts, MENON can work in 12 languages and in many different cultural environments.
Building sustainable initiatives.MENON has been the initiator of a number of successful sustainable initiatives transforming research and pilot projects into long-term oriented ventures. In the field of e-learning quality, MENON has contributed to the creation of EFQUEL, the European Foundation for Quality in e-learning (www.qualityfoundation.org), a stable and broad network active as a forum for research and exchange of practices and visions in the field of learning quality. To support long-term cooperation between European and Latin American stakeholders in fields related to the Information Society, MENON has created the VIT@LIS network , counting with more than 400 members all over the two regions and active in exchanging experiences and solutions in the fields of e-learning, e-health, e-government, e-inclusion, etc. In the field of innovation in learning, MENON has been the initiator of the Learnovation Roundtable , an aggregation of the main European networks active in the field of ICT and innovation in Education and Training systems. Creating multistakeholder partnerships.In line with its mission, MENON is active along its research activities in creating new links and in strengthening existing collaboration schemes, towards the creation of an effective and meaningful European Research Area in the frame of a broader international collaboration arena. In all the projects MENON is involved in, attention is devoted to networking and exchange of successful practices with all involved stakeholders. In its ten years of activity, MENON has been working with all kind of partners, from institutions such as the European Commission, the European Parliament or UNESCO, to small NGOs and schools in Europe and beyond. |

In ten years of activities, MENON has been successfully coordinating more than 20 research projects, being in charge of management, research coordination, dissemination, European and international networking, sustainability building.
